Title:
"Neutron preemission investigation for 11Li halo nuclei and Si fusion"
Coordinator Professor: Marius Petrascu
All doctoral work (exams, essays, thesis defence) was held at the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Physics, Magurele.
PhD period began in 1995 and ended in June 1998 with the defence of the thesis.
PhD in Nuclear Physics was released in December 1998.
My PhD thesis contribution was to analyze and interpret the experimental data resulting from one experiment ran at RIKEN, Japan, using radioactive beam 11Li + Si. The goal of this experiment, proposed by Professor Marius Petrascu and fulfilled at RIKEN, was to better characterize the novel behaviour of the so called ‘halo nuclei’, theme which was on the top of interest of these types of weakly bound nuclei, recently discovered by Professor Isao Tanihata.
