Venue

The workshop will take place at Hotel Andy, Predeal: www.andyhotels.ro/predeal. It is a little four stars hotel, located at 20 minutes walking time from the Predeal train station. A traditional Romanian dinner with BBQ, drinks and a camp fire will be organised near the hotel on September 20th.

Predeal (http://www.predeal.ro), a mountain resort on the Prahova Valley, is the highest town in Romania, located at an elevation of about 1000 m (3300 ft). It is just on the border between the two historic Romanian provinces of Wallachia and Transylvania, in the heart of the Carpatians, between the Bucegi, Piatra Mare and Postavaru Mountains.

The area surrounding the town offers great opprotunities for skiing (during the winter) and hiking (during the summer and autumn). Many tourist attractions can be reached in less than one hour drive: the Bran Castle (known as Dracula's Castle although Vlad the Impaler didn't actually live there), the Peles Castle (an impressive Neo-Renessaince castle built at the end of the XIX century by the Romanian king Carol I), the cities of Brasov and Sinaia, the plateau of the Bucegi Mountains, etc.
